What to Expect on Your First Chiropractic Care Visit

Our chiropractor, Dr. Albert Skocik, uses a gentle touch and strong knowledge of chiropractic techniques, acupressure, and massage to help you regain your strength and mobility. Patients who have never undergone chiropractic treatment may feel some concern about their first visit here since they don't know what will happen. We are devoting today's blog to explaining what you can expect for your first chiropractic visit.

Chiropractic Care For Neck Pain, Back Pain, And More

Upon your arrival at Skocik Chiropractic, you will be greeted by our friendly staff. You will then be asked to fill out some basic information forms about your health and your injury. If you choose to complete the online form (found under our New Patient Center tab) prior to your visit, you'll be able to just bring them in with you. Whether you have neck pain, back pain, headaches, allergies, or any other type of issue, we will simply need to know a few details about it on your paperwork so that Dr. Skocik will know where to begin.

Your initial meeting with Dr. Skocik will be an informal one in which he will get to know you, and learn some facts about your injury or your pain. During this discussion he will get any details he might need to determine the type of testing needed. After Dr. Skocik explains the type of exams you will need, he will generally perform a gentle hands-on exam of your spinal column as he seeks out irregularities that may be causing your current pain.

In some cases, you may need an X-ray so that your injury can be examined in detail. X-rays are a painless procedure and take only a few minutes. Once we have the information we need about your injury, our chiropractor and staff will customize a plan of treatment for you. You may get chiropractic adjustments for neck pain or back pain, acupressure for pain and soreness, and massage for pain and inflammation relief.
